The Deadline You Did Not Set

Public TLS certificates are already capped at 200 days. From March 2027 the cap falls to 100 days. From March 2029 it falls to 47, and the window for reusing domain validation data falls to 10. The schedule was set by the CA/Browser Forum. No enterprise was consulted, and most boards have not yet been told what it does to renewal volumes, to outage risk, or to the small number of people expected to absorb the work.
