Risk and Change Manager - Nottinghamshire County Council
"Really brilliant course, thank you very much. Very informative. I have actually got a cyber incident response test next week and I have been preparing for this test for weeks. So, this is going to really help and the checklist is going to be an absolute bonus. So, really impressive. Thank you very much, I have really enjoyed it." “I found it very useful. I think the takeaway for me is that from a Business Recovery and Emergency Planning perspective, I might be paying more attention to the RACT people to see what they’ve done. While it isn’t totally their problem by all means, the recovery process starts from them and what they can do. I think our corporate leadership should undergo a shorter version of this course to make them aware of what the rest of the organisation is doing. And the RACT staff should possibly be doing a more in-depth version. I think it’s important that they understand this. As regards the trainer, he’s very engaging. He kept us all interested, awake and amused at times.”

“I found these 2.5 days really informative and I think there were a lot of good thought-provoking points raised. The training was extremely relevant and timely given the current threats that we’re facing. I thought it was a really good blend of theory and practical breakout sessions. It was really good to hear other people’s points of view and what other organisations are doing. The documentation that we’re going to receive at the end of this is a bonus from my perspective. The trainer gave very, very good delivery and kept everyone engaged and made the subject interesting. Thank you very much.”
“In terms of what we wanted from the course, for me, it was about understanding the IT language from a business continuity perspective. We’ve really lucked out that we have a very strong IT team, I’m sure covering a lot of this stuff. But from a BCM perspective, I need to let them know my expectations and you’ve given me confidence to ask the right questions and you’ve delivered that in a language that’s easily understood. I thought 2.5 days on Zoom would be tough but I’ve really enjoyed it.”
"I found it a very useful and insightful course for highlighting the potential and risks of cyber-attacks on organisations. I found the use of real-world examples very beneficial and I’ve actually seen the impact on organisations. I suppose for me the biggest takeaway from an emergency plan and business continuity perspective is the need for appropriate governance around cyber incident response and for IT generally. The trainer I think was engaging and entertaining and I certainly wasn’t bored."
"Great course. I found it very useful and it was a very timely reminder of how important cyber is, particularly at the moment. It’s given me a number of pointers, insights and scenarios that I never really thought of before. Some of the areas where I’ve taken the word for in the past, I’ll probably be poking about better this time. Probably a lot of people must have thought before the course that 2.5 days on a Zoom meeting will just drag on or that it’s going to be a nightmare, but honestly there was always stuff going on. Brilliant course. Thanks Amar for taking the time to go through everything with us."
“Thank you for putting cybersecurity at the top of the list of things that will keep me awake at night. I’ve gone from clueless to a bit less clueless. I have a bit more knowledge now. I’ll be able to have some conversations with our cybersecurity manager. Really what you’ve shown us over the last 2.5 days is what the ideal is, what an organisation should be doing. I’ve no illusions that our organisation is anywhere near that but I think I’ve actually started to see where we are and started to have those conversations that can take stock of the challenges within the organisation. And also I feel we’re in the position where we can do a bit of exercises - that’s one thing I want to take back to the top team. I really enjoyed the last 2.5 days, your good humour and good spirits have kept all of us going. It couldn’t have been easy for you to deliver this remotely. I really enjoyed the breakouts as well. It was really good to learn from others.”
"I was dreading death by powerpoint for 2.5 days but it was far from that. And Amar, how you delivered the course shows us that you obviously have an unbelievable depth of technical knowledge but you’re more skilled in presentation because you kept us really, really engaged. I think coming from an emergency planning background, the language is very similar and the strategies too. You have given us a more modern insight to strategies and thought processes and how we do emergency planning. Certainly a fantastic course."
“I think apart from automation, the ongoing theme is challenge your IT and being on the receiving end of that challenge means that we can be defensive. But some of the examples that we’ve discussed in the past couple of days have shown that we don’t necessarily need to be. Everybody is facing the same challenges. I suppose I would say please be kind to your IT and you might get more honest answers. Cyber can be really complex but you’ve broken down some of those problems and solutions to make them really clear, Amar. And it really boils down to some simple solutions from where you can at least make a start in this. As a trainer, your real-world experience and knowledge and examples really come through and they’re really useful and very engaging so thanks for that.”
