Savola Foods, the Saudi Arabia-based food brand giant, has recently joined other global industry leaders like Google, Formula One, Sony, Citibank and AstraZeneca in ramping up its cyber incident response capabilities with Cyber Management Alliance. Savola Foods hired the independent world leader in Cyber Incident & Crisis Management consultancy and training to deliver its UK Government’s NCSC-Certified Cyber Incident Planning & Response training

Cyber Management Alliance delivered two internal training sessions for Savola Foods for two separate groups, spread over 4 days. A total of 50 Savola staff members were trained in incident response.

The NCSC-Certified training focusses on enhancing organisational awareness regarding cybersecurity threats and risk mitigation strategies. Most importantly, however, it reinforces the idea that the organisation can and probably will get attacked. What’s important to know is how to deal with and respond to that attack and bounce back from it with an emphasis on business continuity.

The participants in the training from Savola shared that the one aspect of the course they found most useful was the balance between technical and business knowledge that was offered. The course deals with incident response as a business problem and the training is enriched with real-world experiences and examples to further highlight what can and may happen and how to best respond to it.

Asif Vanoo, Head of Cybersecurity at Savola Foods, shared his feedback and experience of the training: “Cyber-attacks are inevitable, and preparedness is the key. The CIPR workshop was interesting & interactive, covering excellent content with practical experience-based examples. Group discussions added more value and created the opportunity to learn from other participants. The workshop provided the non-security team an understanding of the complex nature of attacks and the mitigation in order to reduce the overall impact during an incident. Thank you for the excellent workshop."
